NAPERVILLE, IL: Contruent, the SaaS company that develops industry-leading project controls software solutions which enable owners and EPCs to build mega-construction projects with greater precision and speed, was named a finalist for Global Megaproject of the Year by Project Controls Expo UK for its work on The Ellinikon in Athens, Greece.
The Global Megaproject of the Year Award, presented annually by Project Controls Expo UK, celebrates the most outstanding and transformative projects from around the world. Contruent was named a finalist in partnership with JacobsMace, the Program Management Consultant and Project Management Consultant for the project.
Contruent’s software, specifically Contruent Enterprise, is being used in this project to optimize cost savings, maintain data governance, and improve project visibility throughout its lifecycle. Additionally, Contruent’s report building capabilities are also utilized to provide real-time progress updates to stakeholders involved in the project.
Once complete, The Ellinikon, which is located on the site of the former Olympic stadium, will host luxury hotels, housing, an abundance of park space, and Europe’s largest retail district in the heart of the Athenian Riviera. The site is expected to create over 85,000 new jobs and attract at least one million new tourists, with an estimated 2.4% GDP contribution at completion.
“This recognition is a testament to the hard work and dedication across the project team,” said Karl Vantine, Chief Customer Officer at Contruent. “The Ellinikon will be a transformative site for residents and Greek citizens alike for generations to come, and we are proud to be part of this innovative, historic work.”
The winner of the Global Megaproject of the Year Award will be announced at the Project Controls Expo UK Award Ceremony on November 7th at Wembley Stadium in London.
The first phase of The Ellinikon is expected to be completed in 2026.
